Story & Bloom was founded on a simple belief: a celebration of life should reflect the person being remembered, not follow a standard formula.

We specialize exclusively in planning celebrations of life held outside the funeral home. Whether the gathering takes place in a private home, garden, museum, restaurant, country club, historic venue, place of worship, or beneath a tent in the backyard, our goal is to create an experience that feels unmistakably personal.

For more than 30 years, I have planned events throughout the Washington, DC region, from intimate private gatherings to large-scale galas, museum events, corporate celebrations, and special occasions in many of the area’s most iconic venues.

Over the years, I learned that the events people remember most are not defined by the flowers, the menu, or the venue. They are remembered for how they made people feel and the memories created together.

That understanding inspired Story & Bloom.

After helping a family create a deeply personal celebration of life, I saw an opportunity to approach these gatherings differently. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all format centered on loss, I wanted to help families celebrate the life that was lived through the personality, traditions, passions, and stories that made their loved one unique.

Today, Story & Bloom combines decades of event-planning experience with thoughtful guidance, trusted relationships, and genuine compassion to create celebrations as individual as the people they honor.
